The Amphibian & Reptile Guard Temporary is suitable for, among others, the following (protected) animal species:
- Great crested newt
- Natterjack toad > this species can dig to depths of up to three metres
- Pool frog
- Moor frog
- Common toad (in many cases this species is not legally protected due to provincial exemptions, but it remains relevant to take into account, particularly in relation to seasonal toad migration)
